survival OUTDOOR SKILLS playcamp


This once a week AFTER SCHOOL Playcamp, is a 90 minutes, drop off program for children 7 to 12 years old. Children 5 and 6 years old are also welcome to participate  when accompanied by a parent or caregiver.
Survival Outdoor Skills Playcamp was designed to offer children participating a space where risky play comes with responsibility,  learning at the same time, how to overcome the challenges of everyday life in the wildness.
Classes are thought in Spanish & English.
At this 9 weeks program, children attending will be learn and practice:
  1. Knots and tying skills.
  2. How to build a shelter.
  3. Fire Craft (ability to start a fire).
  4. Outdoor Cooking.
  5. Knifes and carving.
  6. Basic orientation: Compass
  7. Physical trainning: natural obstacles, climbing & hiking.
  8. The art of camoflage and hideouts.
  9. Closing: Pop up presentation of skills to parents and Bonfire..
Outdoor Survival Skills Playcamp
Session 1: Friday, February 15th to April 19th 
Session 2: Wednesday, March 6th to May 8th
  • Maximum of 10 children per session
  • 90 minutes class: 4:00pm to 5:30pm
  • 9 weeks program – No classes during the week of Spring Break.
  • 2 mentors on each session.  1 : 5 ratio
  • $300 per child per the whole program.
  • 15% Sibling Discount.
       .This is a rain or shine class, all children must be dressed for the weather.

Jehovanie Montoya

Original from New York, he spent his childhood in Colombia and in 2002 moved to Japan with his family. In Japan, in partnership with his wife,  he opened an Outdoor Skills School, sharing with children many valuable knowledge to enhance their experience in nature.
